Suche: GT Pumpe-Membran/Schalthebel Buchse

Beitrag von David Rives »

Hallo:

Hello:
My GT 1700 runs fine occasionally, but most times it has no power. Some times it is as if it had a governor, and I can't travel above 30 MPH; a lot of times, it bucks and sputters and backfires, especially under load, like going up a hill. Going downhill is often no problem. Do I need a carburetor pump membrane? Who is the source for these?

Also, my gearshift lever is very loose where it attaches to the rod. Is there a bushing from another car that will fit, or does anyone in the club have an extra?

thanks,
David Rives

Hi, David,

did you control the pilot tubes (located on top of each carburettor ?

in case the pilot tube is not clean, it will cause malfunctions as you describe.

else check the fixing tube for the central diffusor.

check the choke - actuator broken or loose, claps loose

check for fuel dropping from bottom of carburettors - it must be dry there !!

the diaphragm for the accelerator is needed, when bottom of carbs is full of fuel, when there is a gap between pressing the gas and acceleration of the car.

check the foot of fuel pumps - in case fuel drops out at the bottom
you need new diaphragms for the fuel pumps.

don't forget to check & clean the fuel filter.

both partsavailable at Helmut Riemer's shop as newly made parts.

regards
Wolfgang
