Suspension color/antirust agents

Hello:
I am going to have the front suspension rebuilt on my 1700 GT Coupe and I have two questions:

1. What color was the front axle crossmember originally? Black, grey, or something else? How about the wishbone arms?

2. What are your opinions on using antirust coatings, like POR-15? My car has some surface rust, nothing too bad, but I would like to stop it from getting worse. Any tips on what else to rustproof?

Hi, David,

I just cleaned the parts from oil, then I gave the suspension parts to
sand blasting and electrostatic coating.

I use black for all suspensions of all of my cars.
